UX Research & Design Professional

We are seeking a part-time UX Research & Design Professional to help improve the user interface experience of our client’s future applications used by criminal justice professionals. This role will focus on implementing human-centered design principles, re-engineering business processes as necessary, and utilizing the latest technology to innovate solutions.

Our client is embarking on a major application development project to create a technology solution that will be used by law enforcement in Minnesota to enter, process, and manage law enforcement records. Traust is seeking a part-time UX Research & Design Professional to help improve the user interface experience of our client’s future applications used by criminal justice professionals. This role will focus on implementing human-centered design principles, re-engineering business processes as necessary, and utilizing the latest technology to innovate solutions.

  • Position: UX Research & Design Professional
  • Position Type: Part-Time (approximately 20 hours per week)
  • Location: Remote, with required on-site user meetings
  • Contract Duration: 12–18 months beginning November 20223

Responsibilities

The Part-Time UX Research & Design Professional will be responsible for the following:

  • Collaborating with user groups to design user interfaces that enhance the usability of applications.
  • Conducting usability tests and contextual inquiries to gather user feedback.
  • Working with developers to ensure the successful implementation of the best user experience while adhering to current application technology.
  • Providing expertise in the iterative user experience (UX) process, covering all stages of the UX life cycle.
  • Meeting project deadlines and working independently to achieve objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with strong verbal and written skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years experience in projects that applied human-centered design principles.
  • Experience in designing line of business (LOB) user interfaces.
  • Experience in facilitating usability tests and contextual inquiries.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work remotely and use personal telework tools, such as a laptop/computer and internet connection.
